Norman Sketches
Sorry I'm a day late on the upload. I Think a couple things should be done style wise. If you look at the reference a lot of the characters are soft and round, I think this could be mimicked more in our designs for the good guys, I think some sharps are need for the villains. I liked the idea of having the queen witch having all three witches combined, like in the secret of kells. I just think it will give us a different shape. I just tried to make the girl cute. Again, i think our lead good guys should be soft and somewhat squishy looking.

The scheming witch on the bottom right of the witch page is awesome. Once your ead the book you might find yourself straying a tad from the super-round design for Yvaine. She's cute and grumpy and girly, but not necessarily adorable? Anyways, an awesome start!!
ReplyDeleteLove the witches. They look so devious but in a comical way. Maybe the three witches could be comic relief while the witch queen provides a true villain. I love the idea of giving the witch queen a crown. I'm going to work on that.
ReplyDeleteYvaine looks a tad too girlish to me, but I love the shapes. You've got the right idea with sharps v. curves. I like the Yvaine face design in the center of the middle page of hers. She looks a bit mischievous, perhaps more strong minded. Over all great job!
I love the three witches in one, but worry about being to "Fates" -ish from Hercules. idk, yes/no? But I still like that enough to explore it.
ReplyDeleteTotally agree on the rounder/softer for good and angular/harder for bad.
