The Work Train Missed a Stop

Hey guys. Sorry I missed class- I was painting and then I looked up and it was 8pm!!

Here's what I've been doing:

Laura- More Tristran

Hey guys, I spent a little more time on Tristran. Do you think I should try some totally different shapes, aside from this long and lanky one? I'm feeling the #11 body with slightly longer legs and the #16 head with some more development in structure. Thoughts?

I finally settled on design # 5 from this batch and have started in on color studies. Any feedback will be awesome, whether here or in class so  can have an outstanding revised/finished design page next week!!

And here I am trying to lock down Tristran. I think I've finally decided on a shape (kind of hunchy a-symetrical triangle) and I like the alfalfa sprout curly in his hair. Tonight or tomorrow night I'll post a line-up of variations in the same pose, and hopefully some color studies!

Here's what I've done so far just loose idea-fussing.

Yvaine- I see her as being curvy, soft, flowy, with a slightly alien quality about her.

 

Witch-Queen: I was wafting back and forth between her crone self and her "younger" self. I'm thinking angles, like a statue. Somewhere between Yzma from the Emperor's New Groove, and the sexy human form Ursula took on in The Little Mermaid. So far I've gone too ugly, and the next step is to pretty her up a bit.

And here's me playing with Tristan. I want him to be geeky and lanky and totally awkward, but also have a hint of the heroic. In the story he's surprisingly brave and selfless (except for keeping Yvaine as a slave) and I want those qualities to shine. Again, I'm bouncing back and forth here. Needs a lot more work.

This page isn't as well though-out as the other... I'm battling a cold and yesterday I didn't feel so great, which made me sloppy.

OK! Obviously they need lots of work still but I'm going to do a page of thumbs for Sal and Una, and then see where I am. Feedback por favor!
