Norman Yvaine painting

I think these little stars are a little corny, but I kind of love them and I think they fit.

Norm Boats

Here's a bunch of doodles leading up to the final design. I'm in the middle of putting all the bells and whistles on it. Then to paint!

Norman Yvaine sketches

Here's more sketches. There were the ones leading up to the design I started painting.

Norman Yvaine painting update

So here is another update of the painting. still working hard on it. Is anything sticking out that I should address? Also, I changed the bg color, I think it works better now.

Here is another update to the update. Cassandra helped me out with her pose. It was a simple fix, but I think its working a lot better.

So here's a work in progress of the painting. Mostly focusing on the head. Do you guys think this is starting to work? Granted its not 100% done.

Norman Yvaine sketches again

Here's some tie downs of the character after playing around with head highs and hair (i'll post those too).

I'm afaid she looks a little anime ish. Not a lot. But something about it says theres an anime like influence. Maybe the hair? But i think the hair fits her. Any-who. I don't think its a huge deal. Unless you guys think so or you have a simple fix for it.

As for now I'll do some ruff paintings of her to lock down a color palette.

Revised:
I moved her hands in order to shorten her arms, moved her mouth up and chopped some fingers off.

Norman Sketches

Sorry I'm a day late on the upload. I Think a couple things should be done style wise. If you look at the reference a lot of the characters are soft and round, I think this could be mimicked more in our designs for the good guys, I think some sharps are need for the villains. I liked the idea of having the queen witch having all three witches combined, like in the secret of kells. I just think it will give us a different shape. I just tried to make the girl cute. Again, i think our lead good guys should be soft and somewhat squishy looking.
